Wal-Mart has faced a number of problems in recent years, especially problems provoked by the poor relations with local communities and employees discrimination. In this regard, it is important to place emphasis that the aforementioned problems affected consistently the competitive position of the company in the market and undermined its organizational performance. Discriminated employees could not work effectively and they were not willing to work effectively, while the poor relations with local communities and the growing dissatisfaction of local communities with the company and its impact on them. In such a situation, the company had to use the full potential of its strengths and to maintain its competitive position in the market.
On analyzing current problems of Wal-Mart, it is important to place emphasis on the problem of employees’ discrimination. To tackle problems with local communities, Wal-Mart introduced new policies, which aimed at the development of positive relations with local communities. The company attempted to organize special events for local communities and form positive relations with them.
However, the company still faces the problem of the discrimination of employees because conflicts with employees are still unresolved. In this regard, the company attempts to avoid conflicts with employees shifting from full time employment to part-time employment. In such a way, the company attempts to minimize its dependence on employees and minimize the risk of conflicts. In addition, the company focused on the development of the healthy organizational culture but still the problem within the company remains unresolved.
